We are supporting twenty children and young people from one of the poorest communities in Ethiopia. We support them to live with their families and relatives, often helping the household with food, heat during the winter, and other household supplies. We ensure that all children and young people in our program have everything they need for school, from shoes to backpacks to lunches, and we check in monthly at home and at school to make sure that they are doing well academically, socially, and emotionally.
We support the community, and in particular the local school, by providing resources and hosting learning sessions for students and families. Throughout the pandemic, we have been focusing on health resources and learning.
We are a complete volunteer organization, with no paid staff. Except for fees related to banking and local transport, we have no administrative costs. We work exclusively through local people and in partnership with local organizations. These local partners lead our approach and determine the best way for us to empower girls and support those who care for them.
We are recognized on Guidestar as a Gold Star charity
